Army-of-one silent protest in front of the Israeli consulate in Munich, Germany, demanding the end to Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people and German complicity with it.
Courage, sacrifice, and solidarity are real.
Here’s a principled, courageous, and determined woman standing up alone in a silent protest in front of the consulate of the genocidal Israeli occupation, demanding the end to Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people and German complicity with it.
It’s a moral imperative to visibly stand up for Palestine.
Action is the antidote for frustration, impotence, and injustice.
Hers is the proper response to the madness we’re witnessing these days.
The political, cultural, and media institutions in Germany are working overtime to repress opposition to the genocide in Gaza. First, they try to deny it; if that doesn’t work, they try to justify it, and then they will try to destroy you. It’s a systematic, criminal, and inhumane effort to help the Israeli occupation break, displace, and exterminate as many Palestinians as possible. As the genocide convention defines, to destroy them as a group. Germany is a partner in that genocidal effort. It’s up to the people to oppose these crimes against humanity, and many are rising to the occasion.
Let her example show you the way; you don’t have to do the same, but you have to do something, and be visible. If you don’t like public demonstrations, social media, or engaging people, be creative and be courageous. Remember, we all have our own lives, time, and resources. Don’t confuse reasons with excuses. Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians couldn’t have been possible without Germany and the US. It’s on us; don’t play the tourist, don’t disconnect yourself from the world and our shared humanity. You have nothing to gain there and much to lose.
As for those who know and understand this: Thank you. We won’t stay silent while the ones on the top in US, Europe, and particularly Germany want us to be complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people; while they give Judaism a bad name by associating it with the genocidal Israeli occupation; while they give Germany and democracy a bad name by associating it with extermination, dissociation, arrogance, and inhumanity.
